Head of Development Department (m/f/d)

You assume the disciplinary and professional responsibility for the development department You define the technological and strategic orientation of development as well as roadmaps, innovation fields and priorities You control several complex development programs in parallel - from the early concept phase to series release You evaluate new materials, technologies, designs and manufacturing concepts in terms of performance, quality, economy and scalability You are responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of tests, validations and approval activities according to relevant standards and standards You ensure that structured development, testing and release processes are established, maintained and documented cleanly You act as a central interface to production, quality, purchasing, sales and management Your expertise in customer projects, technical reviews, audits and external cooperation You lead, develop and empower your executives and employees and create an environment that promotes innovation, ownership and excellence You are responsible for budget, resource and capacity for your department

Complete technical studies, e.g. in mechanical engineering, materials science, physics, mechatronics, materials engineering or a comparable field Multiannual experience in the development of technically demanding products or systems, ideally in a regulated or safety-critical environment Multiannual leadership and management experience, preferably at department or department level Very good understanding of development processes, product grades, test and validation methods Strategic, analytical and entrepreneurial thinking Strengths of decision-making and enforcement in cooperative leadership Very good communication skills in German and English Ability to combine technological depth with pragmatic implementation and economic thinking A key position with high visibility and design space Real decision-making power and direct influence on technology and product strategies Cooperation with products with high technological and social relevance Short decision paths and direct access to top management
