''Research for a life without cancer'' is our task at the German Cancer Research Centre. We are investigating how cancer arises, finding cancer risk factors and looking for new strategies to prevent people from suffering from cancer. We are developing new methods that allow tumours to be more precise and cancer patients to be treated more effectively. The Strategic Communication and Public Relations Office is looking for a:n graphic designer / media designer (m/w/d) at the next possible time. Reference number: 2025-0141 The strategic communication and public relations office is responsible for the internal and external communication of the DKFZ. It makes research findings of the scientists: visible within the DKFZ and informs about structural and strategic initiatives of the DKFZ. It contributes to the mission of the DKFZ: research for a life without cancer.

The NCT is a long-term cooperation between the DKFZ, excellent partners in university medicine and other outstanding research partners at various locations in Germany.

The task area of the site includes the development of design concepts and designs for the DKFZ and the NCT. You work closely with all areas of the staff office, the NCT communication and the various departments of the DKFZ.

Development and implementation of design concepts, graphics and designs for print products, online media and events Monitoring and further development of corporate design guidelines Development of design templates, care of the logo portfolio Advice on CD and graphic issues Participation in tenders, cost calculation, success controls Taking into account current graphic trends and business philosophy

Complete university studies in the field of graphic and communication design and Media design or comparable training At least 2 years of relevant professional experience Advanced knowledge and routined handling of popular graphics programs (mainly Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) High level of creativity and sense for aesthetics Good graphic skills and spatial imagination 3D knowledge, incl. 3D animation in the video area, are an advantage High customer orientation and very good communication capability Careful and targeted working and willingness to learn new things High quality standards – even under time pressure Very good German and good English skills Ideally interest in scientific or biomedical topics
