Mechanic (m/w/d) Nuclear Waste Management
Are you interested in working in a safe future? You have the opportunity to do so at the Karlsruhe GmbH nuclear technical disposal. We are pioneering in the rebuilding of nuclear research facilities. In the disposal and interim storage of radioactive waste, we have built up years of know-how. You can also help to safely free the site at Karlsruhe from the nuclear heritage. With a planning horizon up to the 2060s, we offer you a crisis-proof workplace with added value. Over 700 employees from a wide range of areas are looking forward to strengthening our team. Our progress is the reconstruction.
Up to 3,000 m3 of contaminated plant parts are processed annually in the LAW waste plant (low active waste). Disassembled plant parts or directly supplied solid, non-flammable residual materials are greatly reduced in their volume by means of high-pressure presses. The residual materials reduced in volume are conditioned to end-storable products. A number of different systems are available for this work, e.g. a prepress with 5,000 kN, a main press with 15,000 kN pressing force and a scraping caisson with various processing possibilities.
