Senior Optics System Designer (m/w/x) is responsible for the development of innovative optics systems and promotes the technological development of their area. Due to your strong expertise, you take over the responsibility of project teams as well as the professional leadership of colleagues. Your duties

Development of innovative concepts for complex opto-mechanical and digital-optical systems

Design, optimization and toleration of systems in detail

Development of system simulation for discussion and proof of specifications

Screenings and Reviews of Optical Technologies with regard to Relevance for ZEISS

Proposals for the implementation of new technologies in system development, as well as their implementation

Leadership of project teams, or specialist management of colleagues

Cooperation with colleagues in Group Research, Business and Manufacturing

A very good university degree in physics, mathematics or engineering

Multiannual professional experience in the design of optical systems

In-depth knowledge in the field of technical optics, optics development, manufacturing, as well as ideally broad knowledge of modern optical components and technologies

Professional handling of optics design and simulation programs (e.g. Zemax, CodeV, FRED, Python, Matlab)

Ideally experience in the professional leadership of teams

A strong communication and social competence in conjunction with an appreciative appearance and a good level of enforcement and motivation

Very good English and German language skills as well as the readiness to occasional national and international travel
