Senior Java Software Engineer - Data Platform (m/f/d)

As part of an exciting customer project, you develop a modern data platform as a basis for building a data mesh. Together with the customer, you discuss technical solutions, follow current developments in the data environment and actively introduce your own ideas and suggestions for optimization. You think forward-looking, trade pragmatically and adapt existing implementations flexibly to new findings and requirements in the course of the project. Your tasks include the implementation and further development of the data platform as well as modern APIs based on Java, PostgreSQL and Kubernetes - supported by innovative tools such as Claude Code, where appropriate. You will also participate in the definition and technical implementation of data quality standards, data contracts and client, role and rights concepts at database level. In close cooperation with various specialist roles and the customer, you will ensure a successful technical implementation and further development of the platform.

You bring multi-year experience in Java development as well as frameworks such as Spring Boot or Jakarta EE. A solid understanding of PostgreSQL stands out for you - from schema design and performance optimization to Row-Level Security and a variety of database architectures. In addition, you have experience with cloud-native technologies, especially in Kubernetes environment. Domain-Driven Design and API-First development are not foreign words for you and you bring a good understanding of modern data architectures as well as their design and implementation - also in complex projects. You are convinced by strong communication skills and can convey technical content in workshops and in exchange with customers and stakeholders in a clear and comprehensible way. You are also able to explain and document technical decisions in a structured manner, for example using ADRs.
