This is a new role in gas trading. For a highly qualified person, the opportunity has arisen to build and manage a new systematic trading division. As a head of desk, you will have delegated trading mandates to develop and execute systematic trading strategies and thus generate PnL. The mandates will cover several raw materials currently traded within UGC, including gas, oil, electricity, carbon, coal and freight. This will be an L3 position and you will report to the Managing Director Gas Trading. Main tasks:

• Construction and development of processes for the systematic trading desk

• Promote innovation and iterative improvement of trading strategies/algorithms to maximize PnL

• Close cooperation with stakeholders within and outside gas trading in strategy concepts and technical implementation

• Manage a team of systematic dealers to develop and execute trading strategies

• Own risk management and creation of strategy performance indicators to identify trends and navigate macro event risks

• General management tasks

• Bachelor or (preferably higher) degrees in subjects with strong mathematical contents

• At least 10 years of experience in trade or trade-related activities on the commodity market or other financial markets

• Fun to connect trade, quantitative analysis and technology to develop new business opportunities

• Experience and track record in the development and implementation of profitable non-discipline trading strategies. Validate decisions data-based and respond quickly to changing market conditions

• Proven ability to self-employment with the willingness to learn new things, to empower others and to make changes to achieve results

• Advanced programming knowledge for processing and analysis of large amounts of data. Python is a plus
