Senior Tunnel Risk Engineer – Underground Construction and Infrastructure Projects

Implementation of technical risk analyses and desktop reviews of international tunnel, underground and infrastructure projects Implementation of risk engineering visits and on-site evaluations in large construction projects worldwide Assessment of construction, geotechnical conditions, project development strategies and risk mitigation measures Advising customers and project participants on best practices in the industry and ways to improve risk Creation of high-quality technical reports and recommendations for underwriters:inside, customers:inside, brokers:inside and co-insurers Development of Probable Maximum Loss (PML) scenarios as well as other engineering risk analyses Support for underwriting decisions through technical expertise and project-specific risk assessments Implementation of technical training and knowledge exchange formats for internal and external stakeholders: Participation in the continuous development of risk engineering methods, tools and technical standards

Complete master's degree or doctorate in civil engineering, constructive engineering or a related field At least 5 years of experience in large-scale or infrastructure projects. Knowledge in tunnel construction, underground construction, operation of tunnel boring machines (TBM) and/or complex geotechnical projects Solid understanding of building risk management and project management Experience in international and interactive project environments Analytical skills and problem-solving competence Excellent communication and presentation skills Customer-oriented thinking and the ability to communicate with project participants at senior management level English in word and writing; Other languages such as German, Italian or Spanish are advantageous Willingness to international missions No one is perfect and not all career paths are straight.
