As Head of Department, you are responsible for the organisation and management of an important pillar of local child and youth assistance. In the team with the colleagues, they ensure that high-quality, reliable and educationally sound care is ensured in the 22 urban kitas, 6 open day schools, a hort and care of the day nurses. The “Childcare Facilities” department currently includes 5 subject areas (SG): SG Personalverwaltung, SG Team Trogata, SG Kita Team I, SG Kita Team II, SG Team Kindertagepflege. Personnel management is directly assigned to the department management. In the other fields of expertise, pedagogical field management is responsible for the supervision of the service. An occupation of the full-time job with complementary part-time workers in real job sharing is conceivable.

Overview of your tasks

• Strategic and operational management of the department in close cooperation with the property management of Kitas, Trogata (Offene Ganztagsschule) and day care and the facilities
• Service and technical supervision for a total of 4 specialist departments and 2 staff members in the staff administration, with indirect responsibility for over 400 staff members in the institutions
• Personnel management in cooperation with the staff office (personnel survey, collection, use)
• Ensuring compliance with legal requirements (SGB VIII, KiBiz, Children's Protection Act, National Youth, Ministerial Decree) in all institutions
• Principle decisions on organisational and content issues within the framework of the guidelines of the Youth Office
• Budget responsibility and economic management of the department
• Representation of the department in bodies such as the Youth Assistance Committee, the Youth Committee and the Working Groups with schools
• Support and cooperation with free carriers in the Kita, OGS and day care sector
• Interface management within the Youth Office and other urban offices and external partners

Your profile

• Completed (specialized) higher education in the field of pedagogy (Diplom, M.A.; BA) or a comparable administrative qualification (e.g. degree in the field of administrative sciences Master, qualification for career group 2, 2nd entry office).
• Current grouping min. S 18, EG 13 and A 13
• Multiannual management experience in the organization of municipal educational institutions
• Knowledge of the legal framework (e.g. SGB VIII, KiBiz, Child Protection Act)
• Representative organizational, strategic and social skills
• High management skills, service orientation and negotiation skills
• Safe handling of relevant laws, abandonment, guidelines and other requirements for the field of childcare
