As the head of the Competence Centre, you will explore the legal development in selected Latin American legal systems. You initiate and organize conferences, in particular, carry on trialogues in Private International Law and accompany cooperation projects and exchange programmes for young scientists. Your country-specific expertise can be found in legally comparable institute projects. In particular, you support German courts in the investigation of foreign law by drawing up legal opinions. In addition, you will accompany the library in the procurement of relevant literature and support scientists from the respective countries. We will give you the opportunity to conduct and publish independent research in the areas of the Centre of Competence, and we will promote your further scientific career.

You have completed your legal training and/or promotion or Ph.D. above average. Now you want to further qualify as a doctoral student or postdoc at an international research institute or have the wish to habilitate. You have a strong scientific interest in international private law issues, foreign legal regulations and legal comparison. You have good Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills and have a particular interest in the Latin American legal systems. You can also master the German language and the English language fluently in word and writing.
