Optical sensor system for the middle and wide range of information (> 3 km) requires optical visual fields below 6° horizontal image angle. Ideally, optical zoom systems are used for this purpose, whose zoom range provide visual fields between typically 20° and 1.5°. In the master thesis, a prototype is to be built which implements the optical zoom function by means of an electronic zoom on two image sensors in conjunction with two different fixed focal lengths. The following points are to be carried out: commissioning of the existing camera structure Further development of the optomechanical structure Improving color management and brightness control Integration into a swivel-nice head Calibration for SW-based image processing Optional: Object search using the overview camera and automatic alignment of the optical axis to the object, integration of a thermal IR camera Analysis and evaluation of measurements Evaluation and documentation Company-internal presentation Optional: Creation of a scientific publication
