STRABAG Rail GmbH is an international railway company and part of the STRABAG SE Group. Thanks to its more than 100 years of experience, it gives valuable impetus in the planning of railway construction projects and sets qualitative standards in the construction design. In the first two years we form you as a civil engineering specialist:in (m/w/d). You learn how to build pits, trenches and formworks, perform groundwork and produce plastered ceilings, slabs and asphalt ceilings. Already in the first year of teaching you learn how to read a plan and how sketches are made. You are visiting the vocational school and successfully submit your final exam. Now you have the chance to specialize in the course of the two-stage training in a third training year on track construction. As a track builder:in (m/w/d) you are in use wherever tracks and switches need to be repaired, maintained or rebuilt in public transport. You'll learn how to renew rails, thresholds, gravel and switches, build transitions and learn how to serve our modern tram track engineering.

You have a main school degree or a higher grade degree or are close to it. At school you had fun in technology, sports and geometry. You're physically fit and like to pack. Handicraft skill, technical interest and spatial imagination. Large machines and earthwork fascinate you. You'd rather be in the fresh air than in the office. You need the change and you can imagine working in different places.

The training begins in August 2025 and takes place in the vocational school Essen as well as in the in-house training facility in Oberhausen. Of course, the practical phases on our construction sites also belong to this. In the case of appropriate suitability, after two successful training years in a 3rd training year, there is the possibility to acquire the specialization of the track manufacturer:in (m/w/d). The training allowance is 1. Year 1.080.-€, in the 2nd year 1,300.-€ and in the 3rd year 1,550.-€ (according to the current tariff in the construction industry). Work materials, workwear, personal protective equipment, nights, travel costs and teaching materials are provided or refunded by us.
