Librarian Stuttgart City Library - Children (m/f/d)

We are looking for the Cultural Office of the City of Stuttgart, Department of the City Library. The place is to be occupied in part-time (90 %) from 01.05.2026 and initially for the duration of the maternity period and the possibly subsequent parental period of an employee, initially by 31.05.2027. The level children of the city library on the Milan Square welcomes children with their families, teachers, sponsors and mentors. In addition to media processing, active mediation work and target group-oriented service offers take a high priority. You take over the conceptual further development and organization of library and media educational offers for kindergarten groups and schools up to and including class 6, taking into account various cultures, experiential horizons and types of learning and incorporating ideas for children's participation You conduct event formats to promote media literacy and develop them further Cooperation with cultural and educational institutions in the Stuttgart-Nord catchment area is also one of your tasks You provide specialist information for educational professionals You work in the central children's media department and take over the information and counselling service at the level of children The participation in the overall conception of the children's library completes your area of responsibility A change or addition of the task area is reserved.

A degree as a Diplom-Bibliothekar/-in or Bachelor or Master in Library and Information Management Knowledge in the area of the children's media market and active interest in the development of the analog and digital media world and the medial everyday behaviour of the target group Media switching competence Secure computer skills Contact joy, communication skills and team skills as well as service orientation with high sensitivity for the target group Flexibility in working time design with readiness to late and Saturday services
