Holistic system administration & operation System and application responsibility: You take the primary operational responsibility for our Solaris server landscape and actively support the management of our Linux base (Debian/RHEL). You are not only managing at the operating system level, but you are fully responsible for central services (e.g. Samba, NFS, Postfix, LDAP) as well as for our in-house software and third-party solutions. High Availability & Disaster Recovery: You manage complex solaris zones across two data centers and thus secure the operational continuity in the K case Storage & Archiving: You are responsible for connecting central storage components via SAN and the technical management of our archive based on an HCP cluster Transformation & Modernization Strategic service migration: You plan and accompany the migration of central services from the Solaris platform. You control the transition both on Linux systems and – in close cooperation with our Microsoft team – towards Windows infrastructures Application containerization: You actively support our software development in the migration of in-house products into a Docker infrastructure. Parallel to this, you are responsible for transferring standard applications to modern, containerized environments Automation: You increase operating efficiency through consistent automation of administrative workflows based on shell scripting or ansible Security, support & service readiness Lifecycle Management: You carry out complex major updates and take proactive measures for system hardening and patch management Security & Compliance: You consistently implement BSI target measures to continuously increase operational safety Full-Stack Support: Ensure the trouble-free operation of our IT landscape through deep troubleshooting (Level 1–3) Ready to use: In order to ensure the high availability of our systems, you bring the willingness to work on occasional weekends (e.g. on maintenance windows)

Professional qualifications Education & experience: You have a degree in computer science, an education as a specialist in system integration or a comparable qualification with several years of professional experience in the Unix/Linux administration Unix/Linux expertise: You have a well-founded knowledge of the administration of Oracle Solaris (ideally version 11) and how to handle Solaris zones. In addition, you are safe in dealing with Linux distributions such as Debian or RHEL and understand their architecture Infrastructure & protocols: You have profound experience with central services such as LDAP, Samba, NFS and Postfix as well as the connection of SAN storage and the management of archive systems (ideally Hitachi HCP) Container & Automation: You bring practical experience in containerization with Docker and are safe in automating tasks by means of shell scripting or ansible Application operation: You understand not only the operating system, but also complex proprietary and purchasing software to fully support and undisturbed Personal & Methodological skills Analytical Thinking: You have a strong ability to troubleshoot (troubleshooting) and keeps track of all support levels even in complex problems Security awareness: A high level of sense of responsibility in dealing with critical infrastructures as well as experience in implementing security requirements (e.g. according to BSI standard) are what distinguishes you Teamplayer with Drive: You like to work interdisciplinary with developers as well as other specialist teams and have the pleasure to actively modernise existing processes Flexibility: The willingness to work on occasional weekends or to participate in the willingness to call is of course for you in the sense of operational safety. For cooperation with our German-speaking departments as well as the production of technical documentation, reliable knowledge of German is required on C2 level in word and writing.
