• Head of Shipbuilding Unit with 31 employees • Consultation of the WSV and the BMV on naval and traffic issues, in particular drivability analyses, operational optimisations (e.g. lock chains) and traffic regulations, environmental issues such as ship-generated loads on the shore and sole, water development, climate change, and emissions of inland navigation, traffic analysis and transport issues. • Research and development on the interaction ship/water road, traffic and ship simulation, driving dynamics, digitization and automation of shipping using CFD, laboratory and field trials as well as methods of machine learning. • Publication of research results in German- and English-language journals and presentation of results within the framework of specialist events • Initiation and maintenance of professional cooperation within the BAW and with external • Representation of BAW in national and international bodies
