Senior Operations Engineer - onsite or remote (m/f/d)

Corporate IT Services is responsible for the planning, construction and operation of Group-wide internal IT for over 11,000 employees within the United Internet Group. The Linux Application Operations team operates a variety of central and business-critical Linux-based services. These include, among other things, Group-wide LDAP and Identity-&-Access Management, as well as other central infrastructure and platform services. A key focus is on the continuous automation, standardization and modernization of our operating platforms. In this role, you play a key role in the technical development of our Linux service landscape and design sustainable, sustainable solutions for the operation of group-critical services. You are responsible for the stable, secure and highly available operation as well as the continuous development of various business-critical Linux-based services and platforms. You plan, design and implement scalable, resilient and manageable solutions for central infrastructure and platform services and support their entire lifecycle from conception to productive operation. You analyze and troubleshoot system, network and application levels and use modern monitoring, logging and troubleshooting methods. You advance the modernization of existing platforms and operating processes and continuously develop architectures in terms of automation, wartability, standardization and operational efficiency. You design, develop and establish automation solutions with Ansible and safely implement shell and python scripts You actively shape our DevOps and automation strategy and support technical projects and migrations as an experienced contact person. You introduce new technical impulses, evaluate technologies and best practices and contribute significantly to the further development of our Linux and platform landscape. You shape the strategic development of our Linux service landscape and drive the transformation of partially manually operated systems to largely automated, standardized and efficiently operable platforms.

You have many years of experience in building, operating and developing complex Linux platforms. In addition to your technical expertise, you will be able to critically question existing operating models, identify automation potentials and advance sustainable technical improvements. In addition, you will have the following qualifications: You have very good knowledge of Linux as well as in automation with Ansible You use shell and python scripts securely and enjoy reducing manual activities sustainably. You have experience in dealing with monitoring, logging and version management solutions, such as Checkmk, ElasticSearch, GitHub Enterprise or comparable tools. You analyze complex technical relationships in a structured and targeted manner and convince with a pronounced willingness to solve problems and to take responsibility. You work independently, introduce ideas for the technical development of existing systems and move safely in a DevOps-oriented environment. You are characterized by a quick understanding, a high level of willingness to learn and very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing. You are willing to participate in the readiness of the team as part of a team rotation.
