Employment type: Limited Working hours: Full-Time Joblocation: Renningen Alkaline electrolysis (AEL) based on low temperature electrolysis is the leading technology in the field of hydrogen production. To champion its technological key advantages, it is indispensable to further strengthen the fundamental understanding of the interplay between the adjacent components and related cross-function. Electrochemical engineering of the membrane electrode (MEA) represents the key to enable advanced AEL systems. You will work on evaluation-property relationships of electrodes, porous transport layers, and diaphragms as well as on electrochemical characterization at the single cell level. So, you will adapt existing models. Besides, you will plan campaigns, produce your own active layers, and identify their interplay with adjacent MEA components in single cells. Work with us to shape our understanding of key component function in the field of disruptive hydrogen technologies. Use experiments for performance lapse design parameters to shape the next generation of AEL components. Make active use of the available expertise in our internal research team and our broad academic network. You will take responsibility by systematic planning and conducting operando, in-situ, and ex-situ experiments. Last but not least, you will support the work of our internal, interdisciplinary, and international research team, and publish your results in insight journals.

Education: degree (Master of Science) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry,, or Engineering, with outstanding academic performance Experience and Knowledge: with combined experimental and theoretical analyses; experience with modeling and/or hands-on characterization of electrochemical energy storage or conversion devices; basic programming skills (e.g. Matlab, Python); experience with coating process of electrodes and cell assembly is beneficial Personality and Working Practice: you are able to analyzely grasp complex issues and develop creative solutions you work highly motivated as well as eager to learn within a team; you independently and structuredly drive your results forward Languages: business fluent English, very good German is an advantage
