Working Student Market Development - Electricity Markets (m/f/d)

Contribute to quantitative analyses of national and European electricity and reserve markets. You develop and implement approaches and methods for identifying market influence factors, especially in connection with unusual market results. In addition, you will create electricity market analyses, for example for pricing, cross-border exchanges or the impact of regulatory changes, and visualize, document and present the results. You support the further development of analysis tools focusing on Python. In your role, you are directly involved in the day-to-day business and gain deep insight into the functioning of a transmission system operator.

You are currently completing a Master's degree in an STEM subject (e.g. electrical engineering, computer science, data science or quantitative economics). For this, you have experience in Python programming with knowledge of the most important data analysis libraries such as Pandas and NumPy. You are practiced in handling large datasets as well as in their processing and structuring. Complex technical and energy-economic relationships you quickly capture and have already gained insights into the topic of electricity markets. In addition to excellent English skills in word and writing as well as basic know-how in German, you will also bring first knowledge about machine learning (e.g. regression and classification techniques) to know about forecasting methods. .
