''Research for a life without cancer'' is our task at the German Cancer Research Centre. We are investigating how cancer arises, finding cancer risk factors and looking for new strategies to prevent people from suffering from cancer. We are developing new methods that allow tumours to be more precise and cancer patients to be treated more effectively. Every contribution counts – whether in research, administration or infra structure. This makes our daily work so important and exciting. Together with university partners at seven renowned partner sites, we have founded the German Consortium for Translational Cancer Research (DKTK).

For the partner location Essen/Düsseldorf des DKTK, we are looking for assistance (m/w/d) in the research area in part-time (50%) at the next time possible. Reference number: 2025-0168 The site is located in the bridge institute for experimental tumor therapy (BIT) with Prof. Dr. Jens Siveke at the University Hospital Essen. In the institute, innovative research approaches for improved diagnostics and therapy of tumor diseases are processed at the interface between basic research and patient care in an international and multidisciplinary team.

Responsible organisation of the department secretariat (general administration and administration tasks: telephone, correspondence, post-processing, storage, data management etc.) Self-working of versatile project tasks within an interface function between the University Hospital Essen, the German Cancer Research Centre and the actual currently approx. 25-headed team Organisational preparation and follow-up of business trips in Germany and abroad Organizing preparation and follow-up of lecture series and events Relieving the research group in administrative activities Care of guest scientists:inside Order of goods and their final processing up to the invoice Leading/control of basic equipment and third-party accounts We offer a challenging and varied workplace with responsibility and design space in an innovative research environment and opportunities for personal training in a collegial, dedicated team. Successfully completed commercial or administrative training or relevant qualification in the secretariat/assistance area Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing; Team language is English Solid knowledge of Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Independent, structured, quality and solution-oriented working appointment and proper self-organisation Representative communication, coordination and team skills readiness and responsibility Interest in medical and scientific subjects is desirable
