Heat and energy are our contribution to the quality of life – every day new. As BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH we supply the capital with electricity and heat in a climate-friendly manner. Our district heating network is the largest Western Europe with a length of more than 2,000 kilometres. We supply about one third of the Berlin households with heat. With the know-how of our 2,200 employees, we cover the entire value chain of district heating – from production to grid operation and expansion to distribution. At high pressure, we work at the coal exit until 2030 and at climate-neutral production from 2045. In this way, we support the Land of Berlin significantly when reaching its climate targets. On the way to this we want to realize a higher proportion of renewable energies and waste heat. To do this, we need to redesign many of our sites and facilities. In our Department of Environment, Sustainability & Approval of BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH, we are looking for a parental-time representative:n The place is limited until 30.06.2026. Your duties As part of the creation of and supplying the population of Berlin with climate-friendly and sustainable district heating, many projects are waiting for development and implementation to improve the sustainability of district heating. As a speaker for environmental protection and sustainability, you will develop and implement such projects and processes. Development of a sustainability management system, development of processes for implementing a sustainability system and support in the sustainability reporting of BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH

Advising the operations for power plants and district heating networks as well as the new building and maintenance projects with regard to the consideration and implementation of the sustainability strategy and objectives

Coordination and control of projects and ideas from the various operating areas of BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH to improve the sustainability of district heating and supply

Your profile Complete subject-specific university or university studies in the field of technical environmental protection, environmental management, sustainability or comparable Basic technical understanding of energy generation, power plant technology and district heating generation and distribution expertise in environmental law and experience in the practical implementation of appropriate requirements High level of communication and organizational competence, experience in writing process steering and guidance documents, experience in communication with authorities Efficient, independent work as well as strong team skills German language skills You meet about 70 percent of the requirements?
