System Administrator Digital Infrastructure – Fiber Optic Networks

In your role, you will take care of the maintenance, development and ensure the reliable operation of our digital infrastructure facilities with a focus on glass fiber technology. You will participate in the implementation of extensions as well as in the rebuilding and rebuilding of passive glass fiber management infrastructure (FIST). Your tasks include the installation and installation of LWL cables as well as the execution of acceptance measurements and fault analyses using modern OTDR measurement technology. In addition, you will be planning and updating our cable management and documentation system. Last, but not least: After extensive integration, you participate in the standby service and assist in ensuring trouble-free network operation.

Your basis is a completed training for the electronics industry: in information and telecommunications technology and a further training for the state-tested electrical engineer:in or a comparable qualification with several years of experience as LWL-FIST technicians. You have well-founded practical experience in the assembly of fiber optic cables in long-distance networks as well as in the assembly, fault analysis and troubleshooting in fiber optic networks. Comprehensive knowledge in the construction and operation of LWL cable networks and experience in cooperation with carriers and providers are desirable. The safe handling of MS Office and documentation systems is your daily work. In addition, you are in possession of a class B driver's license; a class BE driver's license is advantageous. You convince by clear and secure communication – both oral and written. Personally, you are characterized by an independent, structured and responsible way of working. A pronounced sense of orientation, high resilience and openness to new tasks and technologies complete your profile.
