Head of Kubernetes / OpenStack (m/f/d)

We are plusserver, a leading German cloud provider with the platform for digitalization “Made in Germany”. We have developed the first German Enterprise Open Source Cloud and rely on the power from our four data centers in Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Cologne. For over 25 years, we have been supporting companies and organizations in IT-modernisation with innovative cloud services, hosting and colocation. What drives us? We are currently looking for two leaders for our cloud and container platforms, full time and unlimited: one in Product Development, the second in the Operations area. Because your experience does not have to fit into a drawer, we find out in personal exchange where your technical heart blood lies.

So that you can make a clear picture, here the demarcation as we live them: Development is responsible for the further development of pluscloud open (OpenStack) and PSKE (Kubernetes) from the roadmap to architecture to deployment on dev and test environments. We do not develop OpenStack or Kubernetes themselves, but build on our own platform Operations takes over the solution from deployment, plays it into the production environments and is responsible for running operations including 3rd level support, incident and escalation management Both roles lead their team in a disciplined and professional manner, develop employees and contribute to the strategic development of the platform

Head of Development: You are responsible for the further development of pluscloud open and Managed Kubernetes in close coordination with your team and the Commercial Product Manager:inside Together with the stakeholders, you translate the product vision into a sustainable strategy and ensure a high-quality, time- and market-oriented product development For clean handovers to the operating teams, you are responsible; you represent plusserver at trade fairs or at events You guide KPIs and OKRs and keep track of the success measurement of your products Head of Operations: Together with your team, you are responsible for the operation of our virtualization and container platforms and control the continuous development With 3rd level support, you can ensure high service quality and customer satisfaction with your team You identify proactive improvement potentials, guide projects and optimize workflows and processes within your department Knowledge transfer in the team is important to you, so you can train new talents for their tasks

Your personality, paired with: Multiannual leadership experience in a team leader or head of role Vocational training in the field of IT, studies in computer science or comparable training with several years of professional experience Very good understanding of cloud infrastructure, especially the components of infrastructure as a service (IaaS) solutions Knowledge of the architecture of OpenStack or Kubernetes as well as distributed systems such as Linux, Network, Storage and Virtualization Detectable experience in teaming and working A good balance of hands-on mentality, delegation and strategic leadership: How to take responsibility and drive improvements autonomously Sovereign communication, good stakeholder and escalation management
