That makes this job interesting for me: The development of cost-effective and sustainable solutions is crucial for the success of the energy transition. With my work, I actively contribute to a stable and secure system operation of a future fully CO2-free and power converter-dominated energy system. Through the work in a five-year research project with close connection to BTU Cottbus, this site offers excellent conditions for a practical doctorate. At the same time, I have the opportunity to continuously expand and develop my know-how in the field of stability analyses in close cooperation with 50Hertz specialists. My tasks: Development of data-driven modelling approaches for converter-coupled systems in transmission network planning (e.g. using machine learning approaches), verification of the scalability of the approaches in the context of system stability analyses of the transmission network and transfer of suitable approaches to network planning practice; further development and validation of the model and tool landscape of network planning (e.g. with DIgSILENT PowerFactory in conjunction with Python), answering specific questions on the stability of the transmission network in future scenarios, representing 50Hertz as a specialist*in the research project and at conferences, Presentation of research results at specialist conferences and in scientific networks.

completed studies (master or diploma) of electrical engineering or industrial engineering, physics or mathematics with reference to electrical energy technology, Very good analytical skills and strong understanding of electrical energy systems, knowledge of the theory and dynamic simulation of electrical networks and modeling of power-electronic systems (EMT and/or RMS analyses), Good programming knowledge (e.g. in Python), English (C1) and very good German knowledge (B2) in word and writing.
