The SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. is a renowned aid organisation and a free, non-profit institution of child and youth assistance with 38 facilities throughout the federal territory and around 5,200 employees. As one of the most recent locations in Germany, the SOS Children's Village Essen has been active since 2016. In January 2018, the SOS Children's Village Centre in the northern district of the city established itself as well as several units of the residence. Early assistance, parental advice and family assistance, an open neighbourhood café, various forms of social group work for children aged 6-15 and a children's group have found their place here. The diverse offers were extended in August 2020 by the opening of Kita Knifte. In the future, the SOS Children's Village Essen will also take responsibility for children, young people and families and will continue to grow according to existing needs. Your task: Do you want to actively support families in challenging situations of life and develop solutions together with them? Do you appreciate a work that focuses on the individual needs and resources of families, bringing together creativity, empathy and organizational talent? Then you will become part of our currently three-headed team at the SOS Children's Village Essen and help shape the future of families in the outpatient family support! In addition to our stationary and semi-stationary offers, we also offer outpatient, family-supporting assistance. Our aim is to strengthen families in difficult situations of life and to jointly develop solutions that are tailored to their lives and resources. Your tasks include: You actively go to families and support them by visiting on-site advice. Together with the families, you develop action skills to help them cope with everyday life and to sustainably stabilise their life situation. In crisis situations, you can help families develop and implement solutions. You design individually tailored help plans that take into account the lives and resources of the families. Through close cooperation with authorities, schools and other cooperation partners, you connect the families in the district and create additional support systems. You document progress regularly and conscientiously in order to make the progress of the aid transparent. The further development of our offers is at your heart – you actively contribute your ideas and experiences to conceptual work. Child protection and care protection is of the highest priority for you and you ensure that it is always guaranteed in your work.

You have a completed study of social education or social work, as well as professional experience in educational assistance. You bring well-founded knowledge of systemic work and ideally have a corresponding additional training. You enjoy working with behavioral young people and encounter crises and conflicts with serenity and competence. You are resilient, keep an overview even in challenging situations and approach your tasks with a pinch of humor. You are happy to work in the team, exchange and support your colleagues. You meet the families with a professional attitude and create a trusting environment. A class B driving licence completes your profile.
