The SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. is a renowned aid organisation and a free, non-profit institution of child and youth assistance with 38 facilities throughout the federal territory and around 5,200 employees.

The SOS Children's Village in Berlin supports and accompanies families, children and youth for more than 30 years with diverse, differentiated offers. From the approach of networking and systemic perspectives, we are established at several locations in the capital – from Hellersdorf to Reinickendorf and Mitte to Spandau – with our offers on site in the social areas: these include child and family aid (SOS children's village families and housing groups, educational and family advice, family and district centres, family education, childcare, multi-generation home), training and vocational training.

For our SOS Children's Village Berlin we are looking for a Senior Consultant (m/w/d) in permanent employment, part-time (10 hours/day)

Working hours are mostly in the afternoon and in the early evening hours.

As an educator in our children's village family, you create a safe and reliable place of life for children and young people, where you can learn individual promotion, security and orientation. In the intercultural, social-space-oriented collaborative offer in the multicultural district of Berlin Mitte, it offers children and adolescents a special possibility of living-world reference. In our children's village family there are currently three children from 1 to 3 years of age who are accompanied by a team of four pedagogues and a home economy. In this family-analogous everyday life you accompany the children with closeness, reliability and educational feeling, support their individual development and create a safe place to arrive and grow. You work in our new children's village family Mini with only three (small) children — in the added day service and in representation situations (e.g. during the holiday of the children's village mother) also in the 24-hour service (full time). You actively shape the daily routine and create a loving, structured environment in which the children feel comfortable and safe. You support children in their individual development and promote their learning and education processes age-appropriate. You contribute to the creation and implementation of the educational and assistance plans, thereby introducing your professional perspective. You take over the business activities that arise to enable an orderly and pleasant everyday life. You maintain an appreciation and constructive cooperation with the children's families of origin. You cooperate closely with the Youth Office as well as other institutions and departments involved. You pay attention to the conscientious implementation of child and care protection.

You have completed training as an educator. You have a pronounced reflectivity and regularly deal with your own behavior. You like to work in the team and contribute constructively to the cooperation. You are characterized by an independent and flexible operation. You are willing to take over the representation of our children's village mother for two months a year, together with a colleague or a colleague, and to work in full time, including in the context of 24-hour services.
