The SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. is a renowned aid organisation and a free, non-profit institution of child and youth assistance with 38 facilities throughout the federal territory and around 5,200 employees.

The SOS Children's Village Dortmund is a growing network of stationary and outpatient youth aids. In addition to a children's village family, the differentiated care offers include stationary housing groups for children, outpatient assistance for education, a public daycare centre with a family centre and a city centre. From summer 2026 another kita will be opened.

At the SOS Children's Village Dortmund we are looking for a Senior Consultant (m/w/d) in an indefinite job (29 hours/place) as a divided job: Coordinating specialist for child and care protection (19.25 hours) + educational service (9.75 hours)

The SOS Children's Village Dortmund develops professional relationship work in a family-oriented everyday life. Most children bring high biographical loads and live in the children's village for longer periods. Your well-being is our special responsibility. The other areas of supply are also regularly confronted with child protection issues and require technical support. As a coordinating specialist for the protection of children and occupants, you advise and support our management staff and teams on all issues of child protection and take responsibility for the process in case of reporting incidents. In the pedagogical specialist service, you accompany management staff and teams professionally and work directly with our representatives as well as their families of origin. Your tasks include in detail: You are continuing the child protection concept of the institution and constantly developing it You take responsibility for the process in case of reporting events and ensure professionally sound and structured processing You plan and implement prevention and training for our employees and thus ensure continuous awareness You are a contact person*in for executives and professionals, advise, accompany and strengthen them in matters of child protection You help our employees actively and effectively implement prevention work with the supervised children and families You carry out risk analyses together with the setup management and take necessary measures from it You care for a uniform, transparent and conscientious documentation You carry out individual educational interventions, systemic support for children and adolescents and contact contacts, and accompany help plan discussions Above all, however, you implement child protection and care protection with great care, responsibility and humanity

You have a completed study of social education or childhood education or a comparable qualification with state recognition You bring several years of professional experience in child and youth assistance You have well-founded knowledge and experience in the protection of children and occupants, and you also like additional themed skills You are convinced by your empathy, communication strength and team skills – both in interdisciplinary exchange and in daily interaction You trade reflected, structured and responsible, even if situations are challenging You work in a solution-oriented manner, keep an overview in complex processes and address your tasks with commitment, openness and confidence Your approach to proximity and distance to the representatives is professional and characterized by respect, mindfulness and clarity
