Head of Purchasing (m/f/d)

Leadership and responsibility: You run a motivated and competent team with 8 directly assigned employees. In doing so, coordinate the personnel and task planning and ensure efficient workflows. Purchasing and negotiations: You advise on procurement issues and ensure that public procurement law and the Fraunhofer Directives are complied with when purchasing goods and services. You negotiate with suppliers and design and monitor contracts. Ideas and changes: You are constantly developing the department and aligning you with the future. You react flexibly to changing framework conditions and actively take advantage of the opportunities of digitalization and artificial intelligence, such as process optimization, price forecast or risk recognition.

You will have a completed study with an economic background (e.g. business administration, supply chain management) or a comparable qualification. What also convinces us: Speciality: You bring a well-founded professional experience in purchasing, preferably in the public sector. Ideally, you have very good knowledge of contract law and public procurement law as well as experience with national tenders. Secure handling of SAP and a pronounced affinity for IT instruments are clearly advantageous. Leadership competence: First experience in managing employees facilitates entry. You have a motivating and esteeming attitude towards your employees and take responsibility – both for success and for failure. You are able to make informed decisions under uncertainty and make them transparent. Your team will guide you empirically and safely through possible changes. Social competence: You also occur safely in critical situations. You have an independent, structured and service-oriented way of working, clear and convincing communication and a high social competence. You stay curious and like to look over the edge of the plate. Language: You speak fluent German. Your English is good enough to communicate with international employees or foreign suppliers in writing or oral.
