In our psychiatric hospital, around 17,000 patients are treated in seven independent clinics of different disciplines at seven locations each year in a stationary, daily clinical and outpatient manner. The Klinikum am Weissenhof is recognized as an academic teaching hospital at the University of Heidelberg and is involved in the teaching of psychiatry and psychotherapy at the Faculty of Medicine. The Department of Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy has 100 stationary treatment sites and 26 places for patients in the external testing phase as well as a Forensic specialist ambulance. Our mission is to treat and secure mentally ill people in any age, during or due to their mental illness or have committed a criminal offence due to their illness or Disorders are at risk of committing further crimes.
