carrying out and coordinating research in the subproject of the BAM ‘Examinations to SE(B) samples’ under the BMUKN joint project MCGUSS-2 ‘Review of the Master Curve modifications approaches for ferritic cast iron with spherical graphite’. To this end, both theoretical work and an extensive experimental study programme must be carried out. This includes in particular: Preparation of literature for fracture mechanical toughness assessment of cast iron with spherical graphite Material procurement (coordination with foundry, monitoring casting concept and material property profile, development of sample systematics) Organisation of sample production and mechanical-technological material property characterization (production of standard test concept. Assessment of experimental results, discussion failure mechanisms) Break-mechanical test series with small and large samples at increased loading speeds (further development, coordination and evaluation of the temperature- and load-speed-dependent examination programme, analysis of influencing factors) Result discussion and coordination with the project partner MPA University of Stuttgart (part project ''Experiences at C(T)- and DC(T)-Proben'') Statistical analysis of the data base produced Material-specific study of methodological principles of the Master Curve method Fractographic and metallographic studies of the fracture mechanism National and international exchanges in relevant specialist working groups and standardisation bodies Documentation and publication (national and international journals and conferences, project reports)
