Tasks include promoting the education and development of young people. The Städtische Sozialdienst is responsible for advising and supporting both young people and their families as well as adult persons with assistance needs. The enrolled body has its focus on nursing children.

Implementation and further development of preparatory seminars for nurses in the field of permanent care Promoting young people in their individual and social development (§ 1 SGB VIII) Self-perception of the protection contract for child welfare (§ 8a SGB VIII), documentation and crisis intervention in acute emergency situations Planning, granting, management and implementation according to SGB VIII of assistance for nursing children (see § 27 et seq. SGB VIII, in particular § 33 SGB VIII), examination of requests for relative care Assistance for young full-year children in nursing families (§ 41 SGB VIII in conjunction with § 33 SGB VIII) Coordination and monitoring of visit/entry contacts Participation in family court proceedings (§ 50 SGB VIII, § 162 FamFG, § 1909 BGB)
