Technical Assistant Dermatology and Venereology (m/f/d)

The University Hospital Freiburg is a hospital with a maximum of 2,100 beds, whose catchment area extends from Basel to Karlsruhe, from the French border to the Lake Constance. Around 90,000 stationary patients and around 900,000 outpatient visitors are treated annually. The university hospital employs more than 15,000 people and is one of the largest employers in the region. The Department of Dermatology and Venerology is looking for a Technical Assistant (m/w/d) Our research focuses on chronic and inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, which are a high burden of disease and are often inadequately treatable despite modern therapies. The focus is on understanding the underlying mechanisms, in particular the interaction of immune cells with tissue-resident cells and their influence on the skin barrier. We investigate molecular disease patterns, identify biomarkers and work on an improved classification and prediction of therapy responses. The aim is to translate our findings into innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. In order to support our translational research projects, we are looking for a motivated employee (m/w/d).

General tasks of laboratory organization and equipment responsibility Support in the planning, implementation and evaluation of scientific experiments Conducting molecular biological and immunological experiments (e.g. PCR, cell culture, optionally sequencing / nanostring) Sample processing (e.g. skin biopsies, blood samples) in the research context Documentation and preparation of experimental data Working with the establishment and optimization of new experimental methods Support in the organisation of laboratory processes in the research field close cooperation with doctors in translational projects and in support of masters and doctoral students

completed vocational training as MTA, VMTA, BTA or CTA (m/w/d) or comparable training or qualifications acquired through multiannual professional experience Interest in scientific questions and experimental work ideally pre-experience with molecular biological or cellbiological methods high level of accuracy and responsibility structured, careful and independent operation Team skills and joy in interdisciplinary cooperation Motivation to learn and develop new methods Flexibility and commitment in a dynamic research environment
