The Clinic for Orthopaedics, Accident Surgery and Hand Surgery of the Sophien and Hufeland Clinic gGmbH combines the acquisition of injuries at the level of a certified regional trauma center with the spectrum of an orthopaedic specialist hospital, certified as the EndoProthetikZentrum der Maximumversorgung Weimar (EPZmax). Hand surgery is a special supplement.

Apart from a few exceptions, all violations of the retreats, the spinal column and the basin, as well as cave injuries and polytraumatized patients are provided. The elective operations include corrections of post-traumatic deformities, arthrotic operations and complex endoprosthetics (primary and change) at all major joints to wrists and finger joints, reconstructive and microchirical interventions and spinal column surgery.

The clinic is divided into 5 teams (EPZmax, shoulder, spinal column, foot, elbow/hand). For the training assistants there is a strict rotation plan which includes emergency services and intensive care. A structured theoretical training takes place weekly.
