Full or part-time, permanent use The Department of Anaesthesiology and Operational Intensive Medicine (Head Prof. Jens Meier) comprises the anesthesia areas of general surgery, heart surgery, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, traumatology, gynecology, urology, oral surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, and child surgery. In addition to 58 intensive beds (adults and children), it also operates internal clinical emergency care, as well as pain therapy and supports several special rescue agents (Christophorus 10 and several NEF systems). The field of experimental anaesthesia, with the focus on machine learning and artificial intelligence, completes the range of departments.
