Head of Platform Operations & Services (m/f/d)

You take over the disciplinary and administrative management of Platform Operations & Services (OET2) in the field of engineering. You are responsible for the stable, secure and scalable operation of all engineering-specific platforms and infrastructures. You create the technical basis on which software, hardware and integration projects can work reliably, and make sure that availability, performance and security are permanently guaranteed. The necessary qualification of the employees is guaranteed and supports the professional and personal development of your employees. You define technical standards, plan ahead capacities and control the entire lifecycle of the platforms from the introduction to the detachment/depositing. You work closely with the Central IT and make sure that core services, security requirements and governance framework conditions are complied with without losing sight of the engineering requirements. You make sure that all agreed services are provided in time, quality and cost – focusing on stability, scalability and efficiency If necessary, you will guide in-area projects and transformation topics.

You have a successfully completed study of computer science, natural science or engineering or a comparable qualification. Extensive knowledge and competencies in the situational leadership, motivation and further development of employees You support team work and open and constructive communication between employees. You have extensive experience in designing, implementing and operating complex IT or engineering infrastructures and understand virtualization, server, storage and network architecture at depth. You are able to operate stable platforms and plan their further development at the same time. You know common operating and service concepts and can apply them pragmatically to an engineering environment. You work in a structured and forward-looking manner and are trained in evaluating capacities, life cycles and risks. In addition to self-responsive action and enforcement capability, safe occurrence as well as pronounced resilience and flexibility are your strengths. Structured recording of complex and abstract relationships in technical and organizational systems is easy for you. You have very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing. You are ready for occasional national and international missions.
