The Klinikum Weiden is a centre hospital with more than 570 beds. As a hospital of priority care (highest supply level in Bavaria), the Klinikum Weiden plays a central role in our clinic network. The Weiden Clinic is one of the most important cornerstones of the high level of emergency care for the region and ensures rapid and optimal care in emergency – whether in stroke, heart attack, serious accidents or other acute diseases. The basis for optimal, near-home care is excellent diagnostic and treatment options in all clinics. The Medical Clinic I covers gastroenterology, interventional endoscopy, internalist oncology and diabetics with its excellently established focuses. Together with strong partners, the clinic forms a certified oncological centre, a visceral-oncological centre and a center for haematological neoplasias. The Medical Clinic I currently has 71 normal station beds, 3 intensive and 3 IMC beds, as an internalist department in the association of the clinics of North Upper Palatinate with a special supply order in various disease areas. In the centre of a holistic patient care, we work closely and cooperatively with other departments in the clinic. The focal points of the Medical Clinic I consist in gastroenterology with a state-of-the-art endoscopy department as well as haematology and oncology with the core of the central oncological therapy unit. There is a close interdisciplinar cooperation with defining the forms of treatment in the interdisciplinary tumour conference of the Klinikum Weiden.

In this key position, the Medical Clinic I will guide you comprehensively in medical, organic and economic terms and ensure a patient care at the most modern medical level. A central focus of your work is on the strategic development of the clinic by developing the medical portfolio – with a special focus on intersidual endoscopy and oncology – future-oriented and innovation-driven. In order to anchor the clinic firmly in the region, you operate an intensive networking work and cooperate closely with established doctors, external instructors and internal departments of our house. In addition, you are strongly involved in the promotion of young people and are responsible for the structured training of assistant physicians.

For this demanding leadership task, we are looking for a personality with the recognition as a specialist (m/w/d) for internal medicine and gastroenterology, which already has a multi-year leadership experience in a senior position – for example as a senior physician (m/w/d) or chief physician (m/w/d). You ideally bring comprehensive expertise in interventional endoscopy and well-founded experience in oncology, whereby an additional qualification as a specialist (m/w/d) for internal medicine, hematology and oncology and/or diabetics is desirable. Their working style is characterized by a high degree of leadership, which is based on a cooperative, value-assurance approach and a pronounced communication and organizational strength.
