Position Summary The Sr Specialist Compliance (m/f/d) ensures compliance with global material and environmental regulations such as REACH, RoHS, and TSCA. The role manages compliance processes, maintains material data and documentation, and supports regulatory reporting. Working close with suppliers and internal stakeholders, the position identifying risks and drives mitigation actions. It acts as a key interface for regulatory, customer, sustainability andrelated requirements.
Responsibilities Monitoring, assessment, and practical interpretation of international regulations and standards (e.g. REACH, RoHS, TSCA, Proposition 65). Establishment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of a Material Compliance Management System, including related processes and workflows. Collection, validation, and archiving of material data (material declarations, analysis certificates, SDS, etc.). Preparation of compliance reports and product declarations for internal stakeholders and customers. Support and coordination of activities supplier management, including supplier inquiries, evaluation of incoming data, and follow-up on missing information. Cross-functional collaboration with Procurement, R&D, Product Management requirements, and other departments to implement compliance. Identification of compliance risks from new regulatory or non-compliant materials, and development of concrete mitigation and action plans. Communication with authorities, customers, and testing bodies; handling of customer inquiries related to material compliance. Contribution to the maintenance of sustainability platform compliances (e.g. EcoVadis) and preparation for external audits and assessments.
Qualifications Several years of professional experience in Material Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, or related functions are strongly recommended. Technical education in materials science, environmental engineering, technical chemistry, or a comparable field. Strong ability to analyze regulatory texts and legislation and correctly translate requirements into product-specifics. Experience in handling material data and documentation systems; structured working style and strong orientation. Excellent communication skills (internal and external) and experience in working with suppliers and authorities. Independent working style, confident professional demeanor, and the ability to represent compliance requirements internally with the necessary level of assertiveness. Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
Preferred qualifications Environmental auditor qualification or comparable certification. Experience with material databases and EHS modules. Experience with sustainability or supply chain platforms (e.g. EcoVadis, IMDS, or similar). Knowledge of risk analysis and CAPA management.
