You cooperate with the return and maintenance of approvals under the Atomic Act for KIT's scientific institutes, projects and infrastructure facilities. In doing so, you will examine the content of expert opinions and authorities and assess them with regard to their relevance and meaningfulness. In addition, you take over supervisory and verification obligations under the approvals under the Atomic Act. In this context, you will conduct expert discussions with KIT's organizational units, approval authorities and external experts. You advise scientific institutes, projects and infrastructures in approval issues according to the Atomic Act, identify the need for action for authorisations in these legal areas. In addition, you will prepare delimitation contracts between the KIT Security Organisation and other organizational units. You will also participate in the creation, updating and harmonisation of the KIT-wide radiation protection system.

You have a successfully completed natural or engineering studies (Diplom (Uni) or Master) and bring well-founded, multi-year professional experience in radiation protection. The relevant provisions of the atomic and radiation protection law, as well as the standards and guidelines that follow these legal areas, are well familiar to you. You have experience and knowledge in the handling of nuclear and radiation protection supervisory authorities, as well as experts employed by them. You already have experience in licensing procedures in the field of nuclear and radiation protection and have knowledge in the handling of open and enclosed other radioactive substances and nuclear fuels.

In addition to your technical expertise, you are characterized by a strong sense of responsibility, high reliability and flexibility. Your strong communication skills and negotiation skills make you a sovereign opponent – even in challenging situations.

As a team-oriented personality, you can quickly work into complex issues and develop targeted solutions. We require very good German knowledge of C2 level in word and writing as well as very good MS Office knowledge.
