For many, autists are highly gifted computer freaks living in a social ice age. Certainly, there are these asperger autists who are absolute leaders in the fields of mathematics and logical thinking. But not every Autist*in is a second Einstein. A diagnosis in the autism spectrum combines many different faces. Many would say about the people in the Autism spectrum supported by employees of the Rummelsberger Diakonie: they cannot speak. Right is: They don't speak loudly. They can communicate very well. But for that it needs people who want to understand.

Working with autistic people - can you do that?

So sure, the least of our colleagues knew when they came to the team. So we've been thinking about what qualities we can help to do the job well. These are, for example, team skills, clarity, flexibility and good communication skills. A stable personality and the willingness to innovative thinking and action are also important. Try out - these are your tasks

Take the step and support young adults in the Autism spectrum in cooperation with your new team. The participants need, for example:

• Support and accompaniment at the local conveyor
• Promoting their communication possibilities with methods of supported communication (UK)
• Support for participation in social life

You will also design the implementation and further development of individual assistance plans. Contact care with parents and supervisors as well as the exchange with the living area are also your tasks.

This will bring you

• A completed training as an educator, curative nursein, ergotherapistin or a comparable qualification
• Interest in working with people in the Autism spectrum
• Loyality towards church and deacons
