Senior Software Engineer – MES (m/f/d)

Your role and responsibilities

In this position, you develop innovative software solutions in the MES sector and drive the technical development of our products significantly. As an experienced software developer, you design architectures, implement complex functionalities and ensure the highest quality of software through clean code and modern development practices.

In addition to software development, you take over the technical leadership in MES projects, coordinate development teams and manage the successful implementation of technical solutions.

They contribute to the Energy Industries Division within the business automation in Mannheim.

They are mainly responsible for:

• Independently responsible development and configuration of MES solutions with C++, C#, TypeScript and React over the entire life cycle, from requirement analysis and architecture to implementation to commissioning.
• Conception and implementation of scalable and manageable software architectures using clean architecture principles as well as common best practices.
• Full-stack development of backend services, database solutions based on SQL Server and Entity Framework as well as modern and performant frontend applications.
• Implementation of DevOps and quality assurance measures by building CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, automated testing, code reviews and compliance with cybersecurity standards.
• take over technical project responsibility by controlling development packages, sound architecture decisions and technical coordination within interdisciplinary project teams.
• Implementation and moderation of technical workshops with customers and project teams to analyze complex requirements and develop sustainable solutions.
• Technical advice from customers in the selection, adaptation, configuration and integration of customer-specific solutions into existing MES systems.
• Developing sustainable solutions with the right balance between innovation, standardization and reusability.
• Use of modern AI-based tools to increase quality and efficiency, as well as critical evaluation of results and independent decision-making.

Qualifications for the role

• Several years of experience in professional software development and/or software engineering with detectable project successes.
• Complete studies of computer science, electrical engineering or a comparable engineering discipline of advantage, but no condition, provided that relevant professional experience is available.
• Very good programming knowledge in C++ and C# and well-founded experience in object-oriented software development.
• Experience in the technical implementation of complex MES projects and in cooperation with customers and interdisciplinary teams.
• Expertise in TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks (react or comparable).
• Practical experience with Azure DevOps, Entity Framework, SQL Server, Node-RED and Clean Architecture.
• Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns and clean code principles.
• Wide technical understanding, pronounced analytical skills and the ability to quickly become involved in new technologies, processes and complex technical relationships.
• Structured operation and experience in planning, technical documentation and sustainable solution development.
• Embossed communication and moderation capabilities as well as experience in implementing technical workshops.
• German and English knowledge in word and writing.
• Team-oriented working, self-responsibility as well as the pleasure of analyzing and solving complex technical and technical challenges together in the team.
