We, the Bremische Deichverband am rechts Weserufer, are a corporation of public law that organizes and manages itself. Due to the geographical location of Bremen, effective flood protection is essential, as storm floods threaten from the North Sea and floods occur from the Weser and Wümme rivers. The main tasks of our association are the construction and maintenance of flood protection systems (deiches, technical flood protection systems, mudguards, Siele, water, etc.) and the use in flooding. Due to climate change, as part of the General Plan for Coastal Protection, we carry out a variety of new construction and rebuilding projects along our Deichstrecken.
