About us Become a patent researcher (m/w/x) part of the steadily growing team of the patent department of Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH and contribute to the fact that we are also among the top 10 of the German companies and institutions with most patent applications in Germany in the future:

You are a member of the IP Support team of Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH and support field management, patent advisers, inventors and developers in research tasks

You research, analyze and present information on patents and technological developments for freedom-to-operate or competitive analyses

You define and maintain the monitoring profiles for patent publications for the technology areas of Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH and coordinate the further development of the database for external patent surveillance

You evaluate and select new AI-based search tools and run them at Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH

You are the interface to external search service providers and coordinate their orders

You organize the regular presentations for relevant foreign patents and document the decisions taken

You have completed a technical, scientific study (e.g. physics / mechanical engineering / electrical engineering / chemistry)

In addition, you have acquired an additional qualification for patent research (e.g. QPIP) or completed the degree course of patent engineering

You have a multi-year professional experience with a focus on patent research in the industrial environment

You have a strong ability to reduce extensive research results to the essentials and to present them according to target groups

You have experience in dealing with databases and their configuration for collecting information and are curious about AI-based solutions

Communication and compromise skills in interdisciplinary teams, an independent, targeted and responsible way of working as well as flexibility

You have very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing
