The Bamberg archdiocese with its over 1000-year history consists of more than 300 parishes, which are organized and merged in 35 pastoral care areas. It counts about 560,000 Catholics and around 7,300 employees. It includes large parts of upper and middle french and extends to lower french and to the upper Palatinate. The Archdiocese Ordinariat in Bamberg is the administrative center of the Archdiocese with eight departments and twelve staff offices. The Archdiocese of Bamberg is looking for a seminar director for the Department of Religious Education (m/w/d) for the Department of Religious Education (m/w/d) at the 01.09.2026. The amount of employment is 75% of a comparable full-time employment (currently 29,250 hours/week). The place shall be occupied without delay.

The religious education seminar is primarily responsible for the training of religious teachers for the subject of Catholic religious teaching at primary, middle and secondary schools and all related tasks.

Your main tasks: • Acquisition of the training of religious and religious teachers in primary and secondary schools • Studying the requirements of religious education and the school environment through changes in church and society • Working in diocesan and overdiocesan bodies from the environment of school and religious education • Participation in the further tasks of the Religious Education Seminar, in particular in the field of training • Acquisition of teaching activities in primary and secondary schools

We expect: • completed university studies in the fields of religious education, theology, ecclesiastical education or comparable qualification • Missio Canonica • Knowledge in the field of religious pedagogy and religious indication • ideally professional experience in religious education at primary, middle, or secondary schools and, if possible, as a mentor or accompaniment of interns • Identification with the objectives and values of the Catholic institution
