The Geriatrie department as well as the nursing specialists in delir prevention provide medical, nursing and social support for geriatric patients with cognitive deficits and/or increased delir risk in a hospital with maximum care. The aim of this work is to provide professional care, pharmaceutical and medical care for this patient collective and to strengthen the nursing care of geriatric people in the UKM accident surgery clinic.

Implementation of a supply concept for the supply of geriatric people at the beginning in accident surgery Support and care of geriatric people Implementation of appropriate screening instruments for the detection of risk patients Further development of processes and standards within the scope of the area-specific supply concept Advice and training of the multi-professional team in dealing with multi-morbid, cognitively restricted people Participation in the initiation, organisation and implementation of geriatric, dementia- and delir-specific training courses for employees Advising caregivers
