You support us in the operation, modernization and further development of the Munich science network. Your main focus is on the development of complex projects that provide a comprehensive Knowledge of ISO Layer 1-8. With the gaps that have been discovered in our processes and portfolio, you are not satisfied, but want to constantly improve the world and in particular our working methods. In particular: a nationwide BGP EPP/VXLAN-based backbone based on Arista and Cisco components with bandwidths of up to 400 Gbit/s over 2,500 Layer2 switches from HPE Aruba, Huawei and Juniper in over 600 buildings one of the largest German university WLAN installations with about 7,500 accesspoints Network infrastructure services such as DNS (with DNSSEC and Anycast), DHCP, NTP, Radius and VPN a platform for multi-antenna virtual firewalls based on OpenSource and much more We are a very open team and you get insight into all areas of network operation, can bring you into all services we operate and follow your personal interests. Our group is responsible for the selection, design, installation, operation and troubleshooting of the components mentioned and thus goes far beyond the literal meaning of the term 'network operation'. In cooperation with the other departments at the LRZ, experiences can be gathered and introduced in almost all aspects of IT operation.

State-tested technician or master of information or electrical engineering with a focus on network technology or similar or Bachelor of Science Computer Science / Communication Technology or a similarly relevant subject with corresponding experience.
