Supplier: Chair of Cyberphysical Systems The newly established Chair of Cyber-Physical Systems of the Faculty of Computer Science at RWTH deals with the voltage field between physical systems, processes, devices and digital systems. The focus is on design automation, hardware/software co-design, resource-conscious machine learning and energy/performance optimization. The RWTH is certified as a family-friendly university. Your duties In this position you define the scientific profile and the infrastructural basis of the working group. You act as a link between specialised research, modern digital teaching and administrative control. Research & scientific guidance Responsible research: implementation of research projects at the interface of hardware and software. This includes in particular the work and simulation of HW/SW interfaces and memory management Thematic priorities: driving research into novel storage technologies, resource-efficient AI models on embedded hardware and real-time systems Junior funding: Specialized guidance and support for students and doctoral students Publication & Networking: Active participation in scientific discourse through publications and engagement in specialist networks. Teaching and Innovation Management Course management: Planning and carrying out lectures and exercises in the field of cyber-physical systems, including in compulsory events in the Bachelor's degree program Computer Science. Digitization of teaching: further development of innovative teaching formats as well as electronic examinations or Examination processes Infrastructure & Technology Management IT infrastructure: responsibility for the construction, administration and operation of the technical facilities. Laboratory & Simulation Environments: Ensuring the functionality of hardware simulations and low-level testbeds for scientific operation. Strategic Science & Third-Party Management Third-party acquisition: participation in the identification of sources of funding and the development of research applications. Administrative control: support in the handling of third-party funding projects and administrative management of a working group.

Your profile We expect you to: A successfully completed university degree (master or comparable) of computer science. A very good doctorate in computer science. Professional experience i.S.d. § 41, para. 1 No. 3 LVO NRW. You have the “Certificate Lead” of the Center for Professional Leadership (CPL) of RWTH or are ready to purchase the certificate after employment. Their scientific expertise is ideally reflected in publications, project experiences or interdisciplinary activities in the research fields mentioned below. Experience in project management (in particular experience in the acquisition of research or funding is desirable) and engagement in scientific networks are advantageous.
