Number: MER0003VY1 The Mercedes-Benz Procurement division is responsible for an annual purchase volume in the double-digit billion range and ensures the quality of the corresponding components. In partnership with around 1,500 suppliers in Germany and abroad, the necessary materials are provided for the worldwide production plants of Mercedes-Benz Cars/Vans. Locations in Germany, South Africa, China, India, Mexico and Argentina ensure close proximity to production. New challenges exist in particular in the areas of autonomous driving, connectivity and alternative drives. With our new Center Mercedes-Benz Procurement/ Direct Purchase of Semiconductors, we want to place ourselves in a future-proof manner through direct purchasing, securing the supplier quality and managing the capacity of semiconductor components. In a direct business relationship with semiconductor manufacturers, technological, commercial and strategic aspects of sustainable supply protection are to be taken into account.
