The choir of the Bayerischer Rundfunk enjoys the highest reputation in the world due to its special sound homogeneity and stylistic versatility, which encompasses all areas of choir singing from the medieval motette to contemporary works, from the oratorium to choral Symphony, opera to film music. Chief Conductor has been Sir Simon Rattle, Artistic Director Peter Dijkstra since 2023.

The heart of his work is his own successful subscription concert - series at the Prinzregententheater Munich. The joint projects with the orchestras of the BR with their respective profiles, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Munich Radio Orchestra as well as the musica viva concert series are a further focus. The presence in the broadcasting area is one of the central concerns of the choir, but he is also regularly a guest of great European music centers, concert halls and high-level festivals as well as a partner of top international orchestras.
