Are you willing to redefine the boundaries of material science and make a significant contribution to resource efficiency with your research? As part of your doctorate, you will explore the thermomechanical behavior of plastics and create the scientific basis for innovative applications of tomorrow. You analyze the entire production chain of components, from the injection molding process to the material structure to the virtual imaging in the simulation. In addition, you investigate relevant deformation and failure mechanisms, derive requirements on continental mechanical material models and actively develop them. Their research results form the basis for more precise simulations and enable more targeted, safer and more resource-saving use of short glass fiber reinforced plastics and their recycles in technical components.

Education: completed university studies (Master or Diploma) in engineering, material science, applied mathematics or a comparable subject experience and know-how: well-founded knowledge in applied mechanics and finite element simulation; strong expertise in plastics technology Personality and working methods: You are happy to work in the team, bring your own ideas and pursue your goals independently and with great commitment; Your tasks go methodically and convince by your enthusiasm for experimental work Languages: very good German and English in word and writing
