We are looking for a specialist in material qualification & process development (m/w/x) focusing on material acquisition testing for use in regulatory and safety-critical optical products for aviation. Yours include: Development and optimization of processing processes – from feasibility analysis to homogeneous and reproducible series production
Definition and implementation of standardized testing, analysis and evaluation methods for material characterization
Planning and implementation of test programmes for the analysis and evaluation of environmental resistance, aging behaviour, long-term stability and safety in accordance with the current standards of aviation
Construction of a material ecosystem and strategic development and qualification of suppliers including RoHs / REACH Conformities
Technological evaluation and release of selected materials for optical products with use in regulatory and safety-critical applications of aviation
Support for certification and qualification processes according to air travel requirements, e.g. AS 9100
Become part of a growing interdisciplinary team and introduce your expert knowledge to realize new products for aviation and create added value for our customers.
A successfully completed study (M.Sc./M.Eng. or PhD) in physics, physical chemistry, material science or adjacent areas
Excellent knowledge of interfacial and polymer chemistry as well as extensive experience with material analysis methods
Practical experience in laboratory or pilot plant scales for polymerization processes with a focus on UV-curing polymers is advantageous.
Good knowledge of physical optics, classic optics production, microstructuring technologies (e.g. UV lithography) and work in protective clothing and under yellow light in clean room environment
In-depth knowledge of the quality assurance of the materials used including air travel-specific quality and documentation requirements
Structured, independent, quality-conscious and solution-oriented operation
Very good communication skills in German and English for stakeholder management
