Enabler for smaller, more powerful and more energy-efficient microchips

Work where the morning arises. About 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are manufactured using ZEISS technologies. As the heart of any electronically controlled system, they are no longer to think away from our everyday life – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. Together with other experts, they develop coating processes for new wafer inspection or laser optics and thus create important foundations for the production of new plant generations

They ensure that the processes can be implemented industrially and solve pragmatic problems in cooperation with manufacturing, engineering and external partners

They plan interdisciplinary topics independently and work on them in the team as well as with internal and external partners

They develop coating processes and layer designs for thin optical layers, record process and measurement data and evaluate them, among other things, according to statistical criteria

In close cooperation with other development departments, engineering and manufacturing, they carry out the process transfer into series production

You have successfully completed a natural or engineering degree

They have several years of experience in scientific work, e.g. as part of a doctorate and/or relevant professional experience

They ideally have already established knowledge in the areas of thin layers for optical applications, coating designs or UHV plant technology

Knowledge of statistical evaluation methods (e.g. 6Sigma) or in the programming of scripts for data evaluation (e.g. in Matlab) are advantageous

They bring creativity and joy to independent and solution-oriented work in an interdisciplinary team with
