We are looking for a dedicated personality for the teaching area Applied AI in engineering. Your tasks include teaching and research as well as the support of student works. You convey the basics of artificial intelligence and machine learning and show how AI and data science methods are used for analysis, modeling, evaluation and development of technical systems – in particular based on measurement, sensor, operating or simulation data. The focus is on the practical use of AI methods in the fields of application of vehicle systems and electrical engineering. Lectures from neighbouring areas such as algorithms and data structures or programming in Python and C++ are also part of the field of activity.
Knowledge of machine learning, data science and their mathematical foundations (statistics, optimization, numerical methods) Practical experience in using AI methods in engineering applications (e.g. automotive, electrical engineering, embedded systems, sensor technology) Complete university studies, pedagogical aptitude, ability to work scientifically (usually proven by a doctorate) and at least 5 years of professional experience, of which at least 3 years outside the HS division (§ 47 Landeshochschulgesetz BW) Ability to hold courses in German and English Willingness to take over (basic) lectures in professionally adjacent areas at our locations Willingness to contribute to the academic self-government and further development of the faculty and university
